Frequently Asked Questions...
Below are a list of the most frequently asked questions I receive. If you can’t find the answer to your questions, please contact me directly at firstname.lastname@example.org and I will be delighted to help you.
What does a wedding planner do?
If you hire a wedding planner for full wedding planning, your wedding planner will become a big part of your life. A wedding planner will take care of every aspect of the planning for your wedding from sourcing your perfect venue, helping you put ideas together in terms of styling your wedding venue, to sourcing, booking and liaising with all your suppliers throughout the planning process and managing your guest list, as well as helping you with budget management. Your wedding planner will be there throughout the planning stages to deal with any questions you have, solve any problems and ensure everything is on track. Your wedding planner will put together a schedule for the day and distribute to all suppliers a few weeks before the wedding so everyone knows the logistics and timings. Your wedding planner will be there to set-up the wedding venue either the morning or day before your wedding, as well as being there on the day to ensure everything runs smoothly.
My wedding venue has a wedding co-ordinator, so why do I need a wedding planner?
A venue wedding co-ordinator is employed by the venue directly and therefore will only deal with anything to do with the venue directly and wouldn’t contact or liaise with suppliers on your behalf, help you manage your guest list, budget etc. A wedding planner will manage every aspect of the planning not just the venue, and they will also source, liaise and co-ordinate with the suppliers on your behalf. If your wedding venue has a wedding co-ordinator, then a wedding planner will work together with the wedding co-ordinator.
Do I need a wedding planner? Surely I can plan it myself?
The honest answer…No! Yes you can do it yourself, lots of people do! However many people (especially my clients) simply don't have the time to organise a wedding (it takes on average around 200-400 hours to plan a wedding) due to running their own business, or are busy professionals, or maybe they just don't want to plan it, or they want some inspiration or help to get started. I offer a range of different packages to suit your needs.
How much does a wedding planner cost?
For full wedding planning, most wedding planners charge around 10-15% of your total budget spend. I charge 12% of your total budget spend, however a minimum fee applies. Until I have met with the couple and discussed with them what their requirements are it is hard to give you a definite price, so I always meet with couples for a free no-obligatory consultation where we will discuss fully exactly what they are looking for and then go from there.
What are the benefits of having a wedding planner?
More time, less stress, expert skills, advice and guidance, someone on hand to deal with any problems in the planning stages, as well as on the day, help keeping you within your budget, provide inspiration, help you style the venue, recommend suppliers, inject your personality and personal style into your day.
